Als wir 2013 die ersten Aufnahmen der damals noch minderjährigen Youngsters von der Isle Of Wight in die Hände bekamen, wussten wir: Wenn diese Jungs sich durchbeißen und nicht als Eintagsfliege verpuffen wie so viele vor ihnen, dann könnte die Band eine echte Hausnummer im teilweise schon arg angegrauten Oi! und Streetpunk Sektor werden. Drei Singles und eine 10" später sind GRADE 2 immer noch da und liefern mit "Break The Routine" ihr Debüt-Album ab. Elf Songs für die man sich merklich Zeit gelassen hat. Das nahezu perfekte Songwriting zeugt von einer gewissen Reife, die Songs werden dann aber mit einer jugendlichen Inbrunst vorgetragen, dass Vergleiche mit anderen aktuellen Bands immer schwerer fallen. GRADE 2 haben ihren komplett eigenen Sound entwickelt, genauso wie NOI!SE, RUDE PRIDE oder LION'S LAW - allesamt Bands denen man das "gewisse Etwas" zuspricht. Die Jungs vermischen in charmant-subtiler Weise urbritische Mod-Einflüsse mit solidem Streetpunk, so dass eine wahnsinnige, schon leicht poppige Eingängigkeit entsteht.

When everything closed down during the Covid pandemic, we started to record demos of old Perkele songs that we use to play live just for fun. We are creative persons and love to develop things, which we also have done with these songs during the years. We also recorded videos to the songs which we shared on Youtube. It became a success and we got requests to share the songs on music streaming platforms. Unfortunately the songs had too bad of a quality for that purpose. This was when we decided to record the songs again in a propper studio. We really want to share these awesome versions with you to celebrate when Perkele turns 30 years old.
